Engineering Intern

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Intern to work with our Manufacturing Engineering and Sales Application Engineering Teams. This will be a full-time opportunity for the Summer.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Organize and correct machine records in SAP.
    • Create and maintain MRO part records, including proper classification and machine linkage
    • Assist in organizing and cleaning up machine functional locations
  • Design tooling and fixtures in Creo
    • Reverse engineer parts (bowl feeder plate for production machine)
    • Create solid models
    • Create tolerance 2D drawings
  • Product and component phase-out project in SAP
    • Analyze and filter data from SAP and other system
    • Check status and engineering compatibility with current standards
    • Review and adjust drawing documentation
  • Conduct design validation testing for component development
    • Organize and schedule multiple testing efforts
    • Design test fixtures
    • Interpret test results
    • Compile test reports into DVPR format
  • Assist with Reverse-engineering and analysis of competitor products
    • Testing
    • Teardown
    • Endurance Analysis and estimation

Education, Training, Certifications:

  • In progression of a BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

Experience:

  • 2+ years into the BS Mechanical Engineering program at a university

Job Knowledge and Skills:

  • High Level of communication and presentation skills both verbal and written.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong academic engineering knowledge especially in the areas of statics, dynamics and thermodynamics.
  • Strong computer skills, specifically MS Office. CAD and technical software skills such as Creo are additional assets.

Working Conditions:

  • Normal office environment except for sporadic testing at extreme conditions, which requires exposure to -30 degrees Celsius and 80 degrees Fahrenheit for limited periods of time.
