Engineering Intern–Turbine Repair & Continuous Improvement

Position Summary:

Successful candidates will become part of a team of highly motivated individuals engaged in the execution of repairs and upgrades for gas turbine hot section components at our Mooresville N.C. facility.  Other duties will include continuous improvement efforts for repair/manufacturing shop efficiency.

• Ability to understand and interpret component drawings
• Proven ability to commission and complete projects in a manufacturing shop environment
• Initiative and have ability to multi-task
• Hands on individual with a roll up the sleeves and get the job done attitude

Relevant Experience:

 Experience in gas turbines, component mechanical design, manufacturing, and machining of superalloys will be considered strong selection attributes.

 Experience in the following areas is considered relevant to the position:

• Continuous Improvement
• Lean manufacturing
• Process improvement
• Product or Process responsibility
• Capable with CAD with preference for Solid Works
• Mechanical design of gas turbine components
• Fixture design for machining and inspection
• Welding, brazing, and plasma spray coating technology
