Monarch NC, a provider of high-quality and trauma-informed care for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental illness and substance use disorders, is seeking a dedicated Certified Peer Support Specialist to join our Transition Management Services team in Winston Salem, NC.
As a Peer Support Specialist, you will support the people we serve in achieving their personal goals while enhancing the development of their natural supports, as well as coping and self-management skills. You will utilize personal experience with mental health or substance abuse issues to assist others in achieving desired outcomes. You will also assist people in making informed choices with regard to their care and services and other life decisions affecting their illness.
To qualify, candidates must have the following:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Candidates must be a Certified Peer Support Specialist for the state of North Carolina (CPSS).
- At least 2 years of experience working with adults with a mental health and/or substance use diagnosis.
