This is an US-based In-Office position based out of our corporate headquarters in Johnston, RI, which is part of the greater Providence area. Schedule Commitment and Work Model

The internship will be full-time starting in June and end in August.

You will work on-site 4 days a week with the flexibility to work remotely on Fridays dependent on business needs.

Scheduled weekly hours are 8am to 5pm.

Relocation is not offered for this role.

FM is hiring a Treasury Operations and Services Summer Intern to join our team Summer 2025!

The Treasury Services and Operations team is responsible for the processing of North American Accounts Payable invoices, Corporate Purchasing and Global Car Plans as well as the administration of the global Corporate Travel, T&E and American Express programs.

In this role you will gain the opportunity to work within financial systems such as PeopleSoft Financials and other systems we built internally for our client's needs.

Responsibilities:

  • This customer focused role will spend time within each group (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Corporate Purchasing and Global Car Plans and Corporate Travel/T&E) and assume daily/weekly/monthly tasks as assigned. These tasks will provide experience that prepares you for a full-time position in financial accounting by providing you with real life experience in the following areas:

  • Regular interactions with corporate staff, worldwide operations staff, vendors, insureds, brokers, and/or partner insurance companies.

  • Compilation, analysis, research, reconciliation and resolution of complex, multi-currency transactions and aggregated data sets.

  • Allocation of incoming funds payments.

  • Entry of invoices for outbound payment.

  • Vendor callbacks to verify banking instructions.

  • Import and maintain supporting documentation for A/R and A/P related activities.

  • Assist management team with other duties and ad-hoc projects as deemed appropriate.

  • Independently arrive at decisions on day-to-day issues and communicate issues to the appropriate manager.

Required Education:

  • Must be enrolled and actively pursuing a bachelor's degree or graduate degree in accounting or finance.

  • Must have completed junior year of college prior to start of summer internship.

  • GPA of 3.3 or higher.

Highly Preferred Prior Experiences:

  • Internship work experience in an office setting.

  • Involvement in extracurriculars on campus related to finance or accounting.

  • Proven success working on a team leading a project.

Required Skills:

  • Understand different business protocols.

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to recognize and schedule priorities with limited direct supervision.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; (Excel, Teams, and Outlook in particular).

Experience with VLOOKUP, Pivot tables, financial reporting, and financial systems a plus!

The hiring range for this position is $24.00 to $29.00 per hour. The final salary offer will vary based on individual education, skills, and experience.
