Job Description
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The HR Generalist provides guidance and support for the day-to-day human resources operations at US Conec. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, payroll administration, learning and development, performance management, recruiting, onboarding, policy implementation, and employment law compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned):
Employee Relations
- Acts as information resource for employees with questions or issues regarding HR policies and procedures
- Assists with resolving people-related issues, settles disputes, and conducts internal investigative procedures; Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues; Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures
- Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews
Learning and Development
- Promotes employee and organizational development including talent development, performance management programs, and skills gap analysis; Encourages a continuous learning environment through developing and improving the knowledge and skills of the organization; Analyzes learning and development needs and determines how to meet those needs
HR Administration
- Back-up payroll process including bi-weekly payroll processing in HRIS system, time and attendance tracking, and other payroll compliance tasks in partnership with the HRIS vendor
- Conducts new-employee onboarding and orientation
- Acts as a change agent by recommending new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed
- Assists with developing data-driven reporting for decision-making to foster business transformation
- Ensures compliance with all applicable Federal and State Laws including EEO, ACA, FMLA, HIPAA, and ADA
- Manages all corporate HR communications activities
Recruiting
- Assists in recruiting efforts for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, interns and temporary employees; Develops job descriptions; Conducts new-employee orientation
Special Projects
- Participates in special projects including new HR system implementations, data analysis for various HR-related functions, and process efficiency reviews
Requirements
EDUCATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Human Resources or equivalent experience in Human Resource
- 3 to 5 years of broad HR functional experience
- Experience with and knowledge of principles and practices of personnel administration including current legal compliance and employee handbook/policies
- Experience with benefit plans administration
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills required
- Demonstrated ability to effectively educate and motivate subordinates is a plus
