Job Description
Position Overview:
Undergraduate Admissions and the Visit Program are responsible for recruiting prospective students to maintain undergraduate enrollment. The Niner Guide Leaders Fall/Spring recruit and train campus tour guides, the Niner Guides. The Niner Guide Leaders perform operational functions in order to recruit, train and lead a team of 70 volunteer tour guides. General duties for this position include conducting daily tour operations and maintaining communication with the tour guides.
- Perform the duties of Tour Captain, communicating key tour details with campus partners including Housing, Admissions Staff, Visit Staff, Front Desk Student Workers and Niner Guides.
- Lead Niner Guide operations by recruiting, marketing, training, and scheduling tour guides for Admissions tours and events.
- Communicate directly with the Niner Guide team via email, text message, WhenToWork or in-person; responding to any questions, concerns, or operational updates.
- Lead Niner Guide operations by serving as a coach and mentor for Niner Guide Trainees.
- Responsible for projects as assigned.
- Work with the Visit Manager to meet the needs of the Visit Program.
- Conduct check-in for prospective families visiting the University using Slate.
Preferred Skills:
- A student in good standing with at least one (1) year of coursework.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to relate to a diverse population.
- Ability to deal with confidential material in a professional manner.
- Understanding of different learning and communication styles.
- Ability to lead and mentor Niner Guides.
- Ability to deal with a high stress and fast paced office environment.
- Currently a Niner Guide in good standing with the program and 2 semesters of experience.

- Admissions interns will work with students from a variety of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Intern will need to be able to modify communication style based on the situation and in response to guest/teammate needs.
