Job Description:

The College of Humanities & Earth and Social Sciences (CHESS) is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Bilingual(Spanish-speaking) Outreach Ambassador to join our Engagement team. This role is ideal for students who are passionate about engagement across units and perspectives, event planning, and promoting CHESS programs.

As a CHESS Bilingual Outreach Ambassador, you will be instrumental in connecting with and supporting both English and Spanish-speaking students, faculty, and staff. You will assist with planning, hosting, and managing events while fostering an inclusive environment through your outreach efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a liaison between CHESS and bilingual students, assisting them in navigating academic and campus resources.
• Help plan, coordinate, and host CHESS events, including monthly workshops, open houses, and community outreach activities.
• Provide translation and interpretation services for CHESS events, meetings, and communications.
• Maintain weekly office hours to provide support to students and faculty, offering guidance on CHESS resources.
• Collaborate with CHESS staff to create bilingual materials for events and communications.
• Foster an inclusive environment by addressing the diverse needs of bilingual students through tailored outreach and engagement efforts.

Hours and Requirements:

• Fluent in English and Spanish
• 10-29 hours per week.
• $13.00/hr
• Must be a CHESS major or minor.
• Experience or interest in event planning and hosting is a plus.
