Job Description
- Develop engaging, well-organized lesson plans for a five-day camp, incorporating active and experiential learning.
- Differentiate lessons for a wide range of abilities in grades 5th - 8th
- Create a comprehensive list of necessary supplies and ensure approval for a supply stipend.
- Maintain a positive and supportive environment for campers.
- Blend education with fun through dynamic teaching strategies.
- Address and resolve conflicts or disciplinary issues effectively, keeping the Program Director informed.
- Lead camp activities with the support of Camp Counselors.
- Participate in a mandatory live online training session conducted via Zoom.
- Cultivate a positive, patient, and enthusiastic demeanor, emphasizing a dedicated commitment to fostering a supportive environment for children and youth.
- Exhibit professionalism, accountability, and adept interpersonal skills consistently when interacting with campers, fellow staff members, and parents.
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills when engaging with staff, parents, and campers to ensure clarity and build positive relationships.

1. Marine Science: Make a splash this summer at Marine Science Camp, where middle school students will dive into the fascinating world of the ocean and its many mysteries. Throughout the week, campers will explore the science of the sea—learning about marine ecosystems, ocean life, and the vital role our oceans play in sustaining the planet.Through a mix of interactive learning, creative exploration, and hands-on discovery, campers will investigate how the ocean connects us all. They’ll uncover how scientists study marine environments and discuss ways we can protect and preserve these incredible natural resources. From the smallest plankton to the largest whales, this camp invites curious minds to discover, question, and explore the wonders of the deep blue sea.

2. STEAM Academy: Get ready to rev up your curiosity! In this exciting STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) camp, students will dive into hands-on activities that blend creativity, innovation, and problem-solving. Through guided inquiry, campers will ask thoughtful questions, explore real-world challenges, and apply what they learn to design creative solutions. Recognized by the North Carolina Motorsports Association, Camps on Campus will visit the STEAM program at Charlotte Motor Speedway, where motorsports meet science! Campers will connect concepts like force, motion, energy, and engineering to the thrilling world of racing. As they navigate interactive stations, they’ll test hypotheses, analyze results, and discover how design and physics come together at top speed. It’s a high-octane learning adventure where critical thinking and creativity take the driver’s seat!

3.Influence with Integrity: Social Media & Ethics Camp: Step into the digital spotlight and discover what it really means to be an influencer with integrity! In this thought-provoking and creative camp, middle school students will explore the exciting world of social media, digital storytelling, and online influence—while learning how to use these platforms responsibly and authentically. Campers will discuss how social media shapes opinions and trends, practice communication and creativity skills, and reflect on the ethical choices that come with having an online voice. Through engaging conversations and hands-on projects, they’ll learn how to build a positive digital presence that uplifts others, promotes kindness, and stays true to their values. Whether they dream of becoming content creators or simply want to navigate the online world with confidence, this camp helps students understand that real influence begins with integrity.
