Position Description:
- Responsible for providing assistance and support with NERC compliance requirements to electrical generating stations and record keeping for Generation to meet all NERC related requirements. This position may support higher career level positions while receiving a moderate level of guidance and direction. This position may direct or train Compliance Specialist I or II. Individual shall develop a more detailed knowledge of NERC compliance requirements as well as electrical generating station processes, systems, and operations.
Essential Job Tasks:
- Provide support to generation and generation support personnel in ensuring equipment, software, and operational compliance with both current and future SERC/NERC/FERC requirements. Assist in making changes and participate in required planning with the generating stations to meet NERC deadlines.
- Provide generating station control system support in the areas of DCS logic, graphics, environments, 2. alarms, historians, OPC data and remote desktop license/servers.
- Obtain and maintain knowledge of SERC/NERC/FERC compliance requirements for generation station assets through independent research and participation in seminars, group meetings, online webinars, and any other opportunities for NERC networking with peer groups.
- Monitor the generating station control network performance to identify and quickly resolve problems to ensure station network security and reliability.
- Perform software patches and backups of the generating station control network to ensure network security, reliability, and recoverability.
- Install, configure, and maintain station cyber and control network assets to include but not limited to workstations, thin clients, servers, switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Manage the stations control network user accounts by assigning and enforcing group policies for security of all workstations.
- Maintain up to date electronic control network documentation utilizing CAD software and maintain electronic historical control network records for prompt electronic access during NERC audits.
- Prepare budgets and design/coordinate programs for Generating Stations as required to support the requirements specified in the NERC standards.
- Directs and trains to assist the professional development of a Compliance Specialist I and II.

Position Requirements:
Compliance Specialist III
- Bachelor's Degree +5 years experience required.
- A+, Network +, Security +, and/or CCNA certifications preferred.
Compensation Information:
$104,620 -$130,770 (min.-mid.)
Compliance Specialist II
- High School Diploma/GED +6 years experience, Associate's Degree +4 years experience or Bachelor's Degree +2 years experience required.
- A+, Network +, Security +, and/or CCNA certifications preferred.
Compensation Information:
$84,180 -$105,210 (min.-mid.)
Compliance Specialist I
- High School Diploma/GED +4 years experience, Associate's Degree +2 years experience or Bachelor's Degree required.
- A+, Network +, Security +, and/or CCNA certifications preferred.
Compensation Information:
$54,470 -$68,070 (min.-mid.)
