About the Internship

Engineering Operations partners with all Engineering divisions to support the long-term vision for the department by leading efforts to optimize operations, improve reporting and the analysis of performance data, provide insights to enhance business processes, mitigate challenges and implement divisional goals.

Responsibilities

  • Design, analysis, and reporting of results based on project financial and schedule performance data

  • Utilize and develop innovative statistical data modeling (predictive analytics) for improved decision making

  • Summarize and communicate performance results/findings to the Department, including Senior leadership

  • Collaborate and support all Engineering stakeholders to deliver the PA's strategic objectives

Minimum Qualifications

  • Enrollment at a college or university at the time of the internship

  • Major in Data Science, Computer Science, or related discipline

Desired Qualifications

  • Background in data processing and statistical modeling

  • Highly proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Experience with programming languages such as SQL, Python, etc. as well as Tableau, Power BI and other visual tools

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Internship Details

  • The start date will be Thursday, May 28, 2026

  • The internship will last approximately 12 weeks, ending on Friday, August 21, 2026

  • This is a full-time internship (5 days per week at 7.25 hours per day)

  • In accordance with Port Authority policy, this position permits interns to work remotely a maximum of one day per week. In person collaboration is essential to how the Port Authority conducts business and regular in-office days or team collaboration days may be required depending on business needs. Some internships may require interns to be fully in-person.

Compensation & Benefits

  • The hourly rate range is $18.07 to $30.31 (the exact rate will be determined by internship type and rising school year)
