Job Description
The Loraine Lab research group (lorainelab.org) at UNC Charlotte seeks highly motivated student software developers to develop and support Integrated Genome Browser, an interactive data visualization tool for genomics.
IGB is a native, desktop application developed using Java Swing. It runs inside an OSGi container, similar to Spring applications.
We're looking for students to join the core IGB team in faa of 2024 to help us update, test, and improve the IGB platform.
Relevant skills and experience:
- Java programming (Swing, JavaFX, OSGi, Spring)
- Software development methods and tools, esp. git and Jira
- At least 2 years experience in commercial software development or support
- Web application development experience (to help us improve our Web sites)
- Ansible and AWS EC2 (to help us manage and improve our infrastructure)
Work location:
- Kannapolis Research Campus and remote
- Carpool available (department vehicle ride share)
This is an hourly position open to UNC Charlotte Graduate students only.
