Job Description
General Description of Internship:
The Program & Events Intern role involves assisting in planning and coordinating Charlotte Center City Partners' annual events, such as Charlotte SHOUT!, Novant Health Thanksgiving Eve Parade, Holiday programming, Victoria Yards, Park programming, and more.
The CCCP team operates in-person, five days a week, and as an intern, you'll be right there with us throughout the entire process—from brainstorming and planning to execution and evaluation.
While prior event or hospitality experience isn't necessary, the ideal candidate will have an interest in event planning and possess the following skills:
- Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication, both written and verbal, is key. This includes being able to articulate ideas, ask questions, and seek clarification.
- Adaptability: Interns often work on various tasks. Being able to adapt to different projects, work environments, and unexpected changes is a valuable skill.
- Time Management: Juggling multiple tasks and deadlines as well as prioritizing and managing time efficiently.
- Problem-Solving: Critical thinking and solving problems independently. Don't be afraid to tackle challenges head-on.
- Teamwork: Working with and communicating with a team.
- Networking Skills: Attend networking events, connect with colleagues on professional platforms, and don't be afraid to reach out for advice or guidance.
- Initiative: Take the initiative to learn and contribute. Jump in and help or offer your thoughts.
Supervisors:
Chief Creative Officer / Sr. Event Director / Event Manager / Event Coordinator
Summary of Essential Tasks:
- Participate and assist in the creation, organization, coordination, and on-site management of all programs and events with an emphasis on stakeholder relations, talent procurement, and marketing support
- Develop support and communicate in a professional manner with a variety of event resources including restaurants and caterers, hotels, media contacts, vendors, volunteers, corporate stakeholders, property managers, police, fire, and city services
- Provide professional customer service by phone, email, and in person
- Maintain daily log/journal of tasks
- Perform routine administrative/office tasks as required, including but not limited to preparing reports and correspondence, copying and filing documents, answering phones, entering computer data, reviewing mail and literature, conducting and attending meetings, faxing information, running errands, etc.
- Provide on-site event production assistance as required for special events and programs
- Lead an event from start to finish to show the skills you have learned
Requirements and Qualifications:
- All applicants should be willing to work nights, holidays and weekends.
- Applicants should be willing to spend at least 25+ hours per week working.
- All applicants should have a strong work ethic and display a willingness to learn.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Able to lift at least 20 lbs., able to stand for long periods of time, and walk long distances
General Company Information:
Internships at CCCP will be paid $15 per hour. Interns will be provided with a transit pass for the duration of the internship.

Envision Charlotte is also a related entity and is a 501(c)3. Time as an intern for CCCP includes interaction with and projects on behalf of all related entities.
Our team is looking for candidates who can work 25-40 hours a week. We are also flexible on the start and end date of the internship. If you can begin in early July or end in late December, please let us know.
