Job Description
Job Summary:
Support the organization’s mission by developing and managing content across social media platforms, overseeing job postings, and maintaining internal communications through a monthly newsletter. The marketing intern will also handle additional tasks related to media creation and event support as needed. This role reports to the leadership team and will work closely with other departments to ensure consistent and effective messaging and marketing support.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Social Media Management:
- Regularly create, post, and manage content (graphics, posts, media) on the company's social media channels to drive engagement and brand awareness.
- Monitor social media analytics and provide monthly insights to optimize future content strategies.
- Job Posting Management:
- Draft and post job openings as instructed by supervisors, ensuring alignment with company standards and values.
- Track and update job applications weekly, providing application updates to supervisors and re-posting open positions weekly as needed.
- Internal Newsletter Management:
- Collect relevant material from the leadership team to compile a monthly internal newsletter.
- Format and edit content for clarity, coherence, and consistency with company branding.
- Distribute the newsletter to all employees routinely.
- Media Creation:
- Design documents, order forms, flyers, or other visual materials upon request from the team.
- Ensure all created materials meet brand standards and effectively communicate the intended message.
- Event Planning Support:
- Participate in the planning and execution of the company’s annual sales meeting, working alongside the events team to coordinate materials, logistics, and support as needed.
Minimum Acceptable Standards:
- Complete and distribute social media posts, job postings, and the internal newsletter on schedule each month.
- Maintain an organized archive of all media and content created.
- Provide timely updates to supervisors regarding job postings and application status.
- Offer proactive support for media requests and event planning activities.
Skills and Competencies: Desired and Preferred
- Familiarity with social media platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) and content scheduling tools.
- Basic design skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) for creating visually appealing content.
- Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail in both written and visual communication.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across departments.
- Time management skills to handle routine tasks and ad hoc requests effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) or equivalent.
