Marketing & Communications Specialists on the Brand Ambassador team are responsible for the distribution and implementation of any marketing and communications for the promotion of all licensing program gear or campaigns on campus. Members of this team will prepare and staff promotion tables, update all licensing program signage around campus, and act as marketing and communications experts for our services. This group will also maintain all social media platforms for the licensing program. The Marketing & Communications Specialists should be dedicated to learning all facets of the licensing program as it relates to assigned duties. This group will report to the Assistant Licensing Manager who serves as the creative director for the team of brand ambassadors.  This group will also work closely with the Creative Specialists to plan and execute marketing or promotional events for the licensing program with the bookstore or other vendors. This group will need to be dynamic, creative, willing to interact with others frequently, and eager to represent the Charlotte brand on and off campus.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Possess knowledge of/demonstrate an interest in learning about Charlotte licensing rules and program goals
  • Plan, promote, and facilitate promotional events and marketing around campus to engage students with the Charlotte brand and available products.
  • Facilitate presentations to the University community upon request (academic courses, Residence Halls, Greek Life Organizations, and NSO sessions, etc.)
  • Maintain all social media platforms for the program, including Instagram, Twitter, & Youtube.
  • Research trends in the industry and present campaign ideas to supervisors in Licensing.
  • Work to survey students in fun, engaging ways so that branding choices are representative of the entire campus and accessible to the Charlotte community..
  • Regularly assess engagement strategy effectiveness/brand recognition to determine areas of opportunity.
  • Research opportunities for partnerships and sponsorships with campus departments, student organizations, or vendors to further our brand
  • Seek out stories of students to engage in video content related to our brand. 
  • Write copy or other editorial items for any UNC Charlotte publications.
  • Assist with any creative design, photography, and videography where needed
  • Assist with website design when needed.
