Overview:

Best Impressions Caterers, the leading catering firm based in Charlotte, NC, is excited to offer an intensive internship for individuals aspiring to become an Event Manager. This 12-week program places a strong emphasis on hands-on experience in event execution, venue management, and client relations, with a dedicated focus on customer service.

Responsibilities:

• Event Execution:
• Prioritize hands-on experience in executing events of various sizes and types
• Learn to manage on-the-spot challenges with a focus on delivering seamless events
• Venue Management:
• Emphasize customer service in overseeing venue logistics, setup, and breakdown
• Collaborate with Venue Sales Associates to enhance the overall guest experience
• Full Service Events:
• Execute full service events, ensuring equipment, food quality and appearance, and staffing meet client expectations
• Interpret vendor contracts to enhance customer satisfaction
• Client Relations:
• Shadow experienced Event Managers/Leads to observe and actively participate in client interactions
• Engage in real-time communication to address client needs and provide excellent service.
• Customer Satisfaction:
• Proactively identify and resolve issues during events to maintain high customer satisfaction
• Develop strategies to ensure a positive customer experience throughout the event execution
• Timeline Management:
• Focus on real-time decision-making and task prioritization during events
• Implement time management skills to ensure the seamless execution of all aspects

Training Timeline: 

• Weeks 1-6:
• Participate in the execution of various events to gain practical experience.
• Work hands-on in each department to understand the company's operational flow.
• Weeks 7-12: 
• Paired with a seasoned Event Lead for mentorship in event execution.
• Work closely with your mentor to understand the nuances of on-site event management.
• Receive continuous feedback and performance evaluations.
• End of 12 Weeks:
• Final performance review to refine skills and make necessary adjustments for effective event execution.
• If successful, expedited path onto our Event Ambassadors Team, taking on increased responsibilities.

Qualifications:

• Passion for executing seamless events with a focus on customer service.
• Understanding of the Food and Beverage industry
• Being culinary and customer service driven 
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Quick decision-making abilities and adaptability to dynamic event environments
• Ability to meet physical demands, including lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs

Preferred Qualifications:

• Higher education or currently enrolled in a relevant degree program
• Experience in the event industry
• Background in customer service or client-facing roles
