Role Description The Purchasing Representative is a full-time, on-site role based in Salisbury, NC. This role is responsible for managing purchasing activities, including creating and tracking purchase orders, sourcing materials and components, and maintaining relationships with vendors and suppliers. The Purchasing Representative will review material requirements, obtain and evaluate quotes, negotiate pricing and terms, and ensure timely delivery to support production schedules. Daily tasks include coordinating with engineering and operations teams, resolving order or delivery issues, updating purchasing records and databases, and monitoring inventory levels to avoid shortages or excess stock. The role also involves supporting continuous improvement in purchasing processes and contributing to cost-effective procurement decisions.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in Purchasing and Procurement, including sourcing materials and managing supplier relationships.
- Ability to create, manage, and reconcile Purchase Orders with attention to accuracy and timeliness.
- Skills in Contract Negotiation, including reviewing terms, pricing, and delivery conditions with vendors.
- Strong Customer Service orientation, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Solid organizational and time-management skills, with proficiency in using ERP or purchasing software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of manufacturing or industrial equipment environments; experience in automotive, medical, or consumer products industries is a plus.
- Comfort interpreting technical specifications and part requirements; ability to communicate clearly with engineering and production teams.
- High level of integrity and reliability, with strong analytical, problem-solving, and cost-awareness capabilities.
- High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
