Job Description
Founded in 2022, Charlotte Clubhouse follows the globally recognized Clubhouse International model — a welcoming, supportive, community based approach that helps adults living with mental illness rebuild purpose, connection, and independence. At the Clubhouse, members and staff work side by side to run daily operations, share meals, learn new skills, and support one another. This collaborative environment empowers members to take an active role in their own recovery through meaningful work, education, and social interaction.
The Project
Project Goals
• Improve website structure, content quality, and user experience.
• Enhance brand visibility across digital platforms.
• Establish repeatable processes, templates, and tools for future marketing activities.
• Support internal team with content creation, analytics, and optimization.
Learning Experience
The Digital Marketing Internship provides the student with meaningful, hands-on experience that builds real professional skills. Throughout the 40-hour project, the student will gain:
1. Real-World Digital Marketing Experience
• Apply classroom knowledge to actual marketing tasks for a live organization.
• Work directly on website updates, social media strategy, and email marketing execution.
2. Portfolio-Ready Work
• Produce tangible deliverables such as graphics, social content, email templates, and webpage builds.
• Add completed projects to a professional portfolio, showcasing measurable impact.
3. Website Development Skills
• Strengthen skills in platforms like Wix, WordPress, or Squarespace (depending on your site).
• Learn how to do audits, make UX improvements, and publish updates in a real environment.
4. Content Creation & Branding Experience
• Practice writing for different audiences and platforms.
• Gain experience designing branded digital content pieces for social media and email campaigns.
5. Analytics & Reporting Skills
• Learn how to use analytics dashboards to measure performance.
• Build baseline reports and KPIs—skills that are highly valued in marketing roles.
6. Project & Time Management
• Manage a structured 40-hour project with clear deliverables and milestones.
• Strengthen planning, communication, and accountability skills.
7. Mentorship & Professional Development
• Receive feedback, guidance, and support from marketing/leadership staff.
• Build confidence working with stakeholders and presenting recommendations.

Outcomes
A. Website Development & Optimization
• Audit current website for layout, content gaps, outdated information, and functionality issues.
• Implement minor design improvements within platform capabilities (colors, fonts, formatting consistency, image optimization).
• Update existing pages with refreshed copy, improved calls-to-action, and corrected navigation items.
• Build out up to 2 new pages (ex: About, Programs, Events, or Donate) based on provided content.
• Ensure mobile responsiveness and basic accessibility (alt text, readable hierarchy).
• Deliverable: Website audit checklist + completed updates published.
B. Social Media Support
• Create a 30-day social media content plan (calendar with recommended posts, captions, hashtags).
• Design 6–10 branded content graphics using Canva or similar platforms.
• Optimize bios, links, and profile details across platforms.
• Draft one short-form video concept (optional).
• Deliverable: Social media calendar + content folder.
C. Email Marketing Support
• Review past email campaigns and identify improvement areas for open-rates and engagement.
• Build up to 2 email templates (newsletter and announcement).
• Draft one email newsletter based on provided organizational updates.
• Deliverable: Email templates + 1 draft newsletter.

D. Digital Analytics & Reporting
• Set up or refine analytics tracking (Google Analytics, Meta insights, link tracking).
• Provide a simple baseline metrics report (website traffic, top pages, social performance).
• Create a recommended KPIs list for ongoing monitoring.
• Deliverable: 1-page analytics summary + KPI tracker.
