Overview: 

The Pacolet Milliken Power & Infrastructure (P&I) internship is a paid summer-long collaborative experience with the P&I investment team. The 8-week internship program will be based at Pacolet Milliken’s headquarters in Greenville, SC. Housing is not provided, but guidance may be available if needed. Interns will have identified mentors during the program and will gain experience across P&I’s investment, capital markets, and portfolio management activities. Interns will also work on a summer-long capstone project and present conclusions to senior leadership at the conclusion of the internship. To be considered, please submit a resume and cover letter. 

Intern Role:

  • Assists senior members of the team in reviewing and underwriting new investment opportunities by supporting financial modeling and associated valuation work, including analysis of industry trends, operations, historical financials, and other key diligence items.
  • Participates in monitoring and supporting existing investments, including communications with portfolio company or joint venture partner management teams and ongoing analysis for the board.
  • Assists in preparing presentation materials for regularly scheduled board and investment committee meetings.
  • Helps manage and conducts ongoing analysis of the firm’s investment pipeline along with the coordination of process timelines and investment hurdles with investment partners, investment banks, private equity funds, etc.
  • Assists with special projects, as needed.                    
  • Participates in spotlight experiences across the P&I platform with various team members. 

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate student with prior relevant internship experience or graduate student in MBA, Finance (MSF), or similar course of study.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a deep interest in finance and investing.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proactive attitude towards learning, open to guidance, and embraces feedback.
  • Ability to multi-task, use information at hand and available materials to deduce conclusions.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Desire to work within a fast-paced, collaborative, and friendly environment.

Physical Requirements:

Posses close visual acuity and visual acuity to operate a motor vehicle. Sedentary work with the ability to frequently talk, hear, finger, grasp, reach, stand, and walk, and repetitive motion and occasionally climb, stoop, crawl, push, and grasp.

Working Conditions:

On-site; office setting without being substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.

Job Type: Full-Time paid internship
