About GardHouse

GardHouse is a nonprofit organization providing underserved college students access to semester-long paid internships, 1:1 career coaching, and professional development programming.

By engaging in work-based learning opportunities at small businesses and non-profits aligned to their major, interns gain a unique experience alongside entrepreneurs and community leaders to enhance their resume, while gaining a better understanding of potential career pathways.

GardHouse has created over 180 opportunities to date, pairing interns to impactful projects in Business & Business Management, Communication & Marketing, Finance, Public Health, Social Work, and Psychology.


The GardHouse Intern Experience includes:

  • Paid 10-Week Internship: Gain on-the-job experience by owning impactful projects that drive organizational success! You can work up to 15 hours per week earning $22.00/hour.
  • Access To Multiple Experiences: Access new internship opportunities each semester until you complete your degree program to gain work experience across different organizations, application required.
  • Monthly Enrichment Kitchens: Join financial literacy sessions led by some of the nations biggest financial institutions.
  • Career Journey Mapping: Build your personalized career path with GardHouse staff.
  • A Dedicated Impact Leader: Engage with your career-readiness guide who will partner with you throughout your GardHouse experience for 1:1 coaching and development support.
  • Intern Cohort Engagement: Build connections with your GardHouse peers through additional virtual and in-person experiences throughout the year.

GardHouse Applicant Requirements:

All applicants must submit a current resume including relevant campus and work experience & complete the online application here: https://www.gardhouse.org/job-board

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.3 or better

  • Must be pursuing an Associate's, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree and demonstrate interest in one of the following areas:
    • Business & Business Management
    • Communication/Marketing
    • Finance
    • Public Health, Social Work, & Psychology
  • Ability to dedicate up to 15 hours per week from September 14th - November 20th
  • Ability to attend mandatory Intern Impact Programs:
    • Orientation Weekend: September 12th 
    • Monthly Virtual Enrichment Kitchens
    • Monthly 1:1 Career Journey Mapping Sessions: Timing to be determined with Impact Leader
    • Social Capital Soirees
