Closes on Friday, December 13, 2024
Job Description
Looking to join a dynamic organization in our community doing meaningful work? You’ve found it with Let’s Shake The Table, Inc. Our nonprofit was created to help bring better opportunities to Black women communicators in Charlotte, NC. This is a paid position, helping to develop you as a communications and DEI leader.
Over the last three years, we've partnered with the Communication Studies Graduate Student program at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in various ways, most notably refreshing the Jade Myers Graduate Lounge to posthumously recognize a late alumni. We’re currently working to establish the Jade Myers Intersectionality & Justice Research Award. Once we hit our goal, the award will recognize, reward and encourage students from marginalized backgrounds who use their research to persevere through tough conversations and advance our collective community.
In addition to our efforts on campus, we provide unique programs to assist Black women in personal and professional development. This work includes skill-building and networking opportunities. If hired, you will work in a hybrid role in a professional environment with various members of the Board of Directors to help further initiatives within the organization.

You will meet bi-weekly with the site supervisor and intern leader to ensure that goals and objectives of the position are being met. Completing any necessary paperwork and periodic reviews will take place during these sessions. It is of the utmost importance that if you are hired for this role that you understand you will handle personally identifiable information for our board, Let’s Shake The Table, Inc. members and those in attendance at our public events.
