Job Description
The Office of Student Development and Success within the Lee College of Engineering seeks applicants to work with the Office of Student Development and Success team to develop a new First-Year Peer Advisor Program.
The Peer Advisor program—part of the Office of Student Development and Success (OSDS) within the Lee College of Engineering (LCOE)—is a student leadership position where Peer Advisors are an extension of our first-year advising team. OSDS is committed to providing first-year LCOE students with the best advising and academic support. OSDS would like to introduce first-year students to their best asset in the LCOE in Fall 2026: peer advisors.
Peer Advisors support first-year students with questions about class registration and help foster academic excellence among students by increasing their knowledge about the resources that may help them succeed. Peer Advisors offer a peer perspective and act as a friends, role model, mentor, guide, and support to new students.
Qualifications:
- Currently declared LCOE with Sophomore or Junior status as of Spring 2026
- Self-starter, motivated to help fellow students
- Strong knowledge of their major and its requirements
- Knowledge of the Common First Year Curriculum and First-Year Progression requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to learn other College of Engineering majors to offer academic advising support
