About Baddies In Tech
Baddies in Tech is a global community and professional development platform built to advance the careers of women in technology. We bridge the gap between ambition and access, empowering our members through curated career resources, mentorship, and experiences that inspire growth and belonging. What started as a grassroots movement has evolved into a multi-platform ecosystem designed to create lasting impact for under represented women in technology. Baddies in Tech hosts in person events, online webinars, multi day conferences, wellness retreats, volunteer opportunities and more.

The Project
Digital Growth & Community Engagement Intern

Learning Experience
The student will gain hands-on experience in social media strategy, content creation, and community engagement. They will develop skills in analytics tracking, audience growth, and brand voice development while working directly with the Baddies in Tech team. This experience will provide a tangible portfolio of work, exposure to the tech and DEI space, and the opportunity to build professional connections that support their career growth.

Outcomes
Expected Outcomes: Social Media Growth & Community Engagement Project Scope Total Hours: 30 hours over 8 weeks Weekly Commitment: Approximately 3.75 hours per week Focus Areas: Social media strategy, content creation, community engagement, and analytics Week 1-2: Foundation & Strategy (7.5 hours) Audit current social media presence (Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok) Review engagement metrics and content performance Research competitor and peer accounts for best practices Develop a content calendar for weeks 3-8 Set weekly growth and engagement goals Week 3-6: Content Creation & Community Engagement (15 hours) Create and schedule 3-5 posts per week across platforms Draft engaging captions and copy aligned with Baddies brand voice Design or source visuals, graphics, and video content Respond to comments, messages, and engage with community Track weekly growth and engagement metrics Experiment with 1-2 content formats (e.g., carousels, reels, polls) Week 7-8: Analysis & Handoff (7.5 hours) Compile weekly and total growth metrics (followers, reach, engagement) Identify top-performing content and why it worked Summarize lessons learned and recommendations for next phase Create a content or strategy handoff document for the next intern or team Present findings and recommendations to the Baddies in Tech team Measurable Outcomes Follower Growth: Increase followers by 5-10% across platforms Engagement Rate: Maintain or improve engagement rate (likes, comments, shares) Content Output: 20-30 posts across platforms over 8 weeks Community Interaction: Respond to all comments and messages within 24-48 hours Growth Insights: Clear recommendations for content strategy moving forward Portfolio: Intern leaves with a portfolio of content they created and metrics they drove Key Skills Intern Will Develop Social media strategy and planning Content creation and copywriting Community management and engagement Analytics tracking and reporting Brand voice and storytelling On-Campus Employment (UNC Charlotte Departments Only) UNC Charlotte Gig Training Program
