Northrop Grumman offers a variety of challenging internships/co-ops for qualified candidates currently pursuing a Bachelors, Masters or PhD degree.

Internship and Co-op opportunities may be part time while attending class (for schools that are a commutable distance to a Northrop Grumman facility, or full time (minimum 8-12 week commitment) in the summer. Cooperative Education opportunities are limited to participating Northrop Grumman locations and candidates from approved university Cooperative Education programs.

As an aerospace engineer, you could be responsible for developing requirements, design, integration, development or testing of air & space payloads, spacecraft buses, satellites, manned and unmanned aircraft.

As a mechanical engineer, you could participate in all aspects of requirements definition, design review, structural design, and integration and test. With our diversity of programs, some mechanical engineers spend their time focusing on the F-35, the country’s next fighter plane.

As an electrical engineer, you could find yourself in a role as an Analog Design Engineer, Antenna RF Engineer, Avionics Engineer, Circuit Designer, Digital / FPGA Design Engineer, Electrical System Design Integration, Field Technician Systems, Architecture and Design, Network Engineer, Power Electronics Engineer, Product Development Engineer, Radar Systems Engineer, RF/Microwave Engineer, Signal/Image Processing.

As an industrial/manufacturing engineer, you could find yourself in the role of Manufacturing Engineering, Process Planning, Measurements, Production, Supply Chain Management, Program Planning & Scheduling, Industrial Engineering, Operations Engineering, Process Engineering, or Facilities Engineering.

As a systems engineer, you could be responsible for generating and flowing down customer requirements to hardware and software designers, developing innovative system architectures, implementing advanced algorithms involving sophisticated signal processing and data processing techniques, and integrating and testing finished hardware and software products. 

As a software engineer you could find yourself in a role as an Embedded Software Developer, Systems Administrator, Database Analyst, Applications Developer, Java Developer, Software Developer, Test &Evaluation Engineer, General Research Analyst, Simulation Engineer, Software Engineer or a Product Development Engineer.

As a cyber-engineer, you could find yourself on the front lines of our nation’s critical information and systems in a role a Cyber Incident Analyst Responder, Cyber Intelligence Analyst, Cyber Software Engineer or Cyber Forensics Specialist.

Prospect Qualifications: A prospect, regardless of age and hiring source must meet all of the below criteria:

·      Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university and have at least 1 semester remaining after the internship

·      Be majoring in a science, technology, engineering, or math related degree

·      Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)

 

Preferred Qualifications:

·      Overall GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher

·      Prior internship or research experience in related field

·      Proficiency in Microsoft office suite
