TheContract Administration Analyst is the subject matter expert for contract administration of employed providers across the Optum Care Delivery South Region They will define and refine the process to facilitate smooth and accurate execution of provider contracts and amendments and find ways to improve the process. They support interdepartmental teams through contract processing, analysis, maintenance and database management for contract execution and compliance. This position provides additional support and training as a subject matter expert of issues pertaining to contract administration and provider compensation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for drafting new provider contracts and amendments to existing provider agreements in compliance with all requirements and regulations
  • Responsible for contract file maintenance in accordance internal policy and in compliance with regulatory requirements, while communicating with department staff to understand and improve workflow
  • Responsible for ownership of the total work process to include system modifications and training, while providing constructive guidance to minimize problems and create efficiencies
  • Responsible for accurate and timely multi-system data entry of provider contract information in accordance with departmental policies and procedures
  • Corresponds and communicates with providers regarding employment agreements, amendment and contract changes
  • Maintains a working knowledge of contracting policies, procedures and process, in an effort to provide cross functional support to the contract services team on an as-needed basis
  • Provides data support and analysis pertaining to provider contracts
  • Coordinates and communicates with department staff to understand and improve work flow
  • Assists in staff training initiatives regarding all applicable systems and processes for contract execution and system loads
  • Acts as a resource to other internal departments on provider contracts and amendments
  • Maintains confidentiality at all times
  • Expected to meet or exceed departmental timeframes and quality metrics on a consistent basis
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 1+ years of experience with legal or financial contracts
  • 1+ years of experience in a managed health care setting or related environment
  • 1+ years of experience in contract administration and review
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications with a concentration in Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience with employment contracts
  • Experience as a paralegal or legal assistant
  • Five or more years of administrative or database experience in contracting
  • Two or more years of experience in contract administration and review
  • Prior experience in a managed health care setting
  • Experience working with senior leadership
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and Access)
  • Experience with Smartsheets or similar data management software

Soft Skills:

  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality while working with sensitive information
  • Must be detail-oriented, well-organized and have the ability to multi-task effectively
