Job Description

Compensation: $25/hour
Schedule: 20 hours/week (flexible)
Duration: 1 year (June/July 2026–June/July 2027)
Location: Charlotte, NC; primarily in‑person with limited approved remote work

About the Role

The Resilience Coordinator Intern supports regional disaster preparedness, mitigation, and economic resilience efforts through Centralina’s Regional Resilience Collaborative (RRC). This early‑career position provides hands‑on experience in local government, emergency management, and regional planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support economic resilience and hazard mitigation projects, including CEDS‑related action items.
  • Coordinate with local government staff, emergency management partners, and regional stakeholders.
  • Assist with RRC meeting logistics, agendas, presentations, and notes.
  • Prepare basic research, reports, outreach materials, and documentation using Microsoft Office tools.
  • Support hazard mitigation, preparedness activities, and review of related plans or grant materials.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Pursuing or recently completed a degree in public administration, planning, emergency management, economics, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of emergency management concepts (preparedness, mitigation, response, recovery).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills.
