Engineering Lab Technician (R&D and Product Testing)

Gas Fired Products is seeking a hands-on Engineering Lab Technician to support product development, testing, and prototype fabrication.

This role works closely with Project Engineers in a fast-paced R&D environment, assisting with lab experiments, equipment testing, and building prototype systems. Ideal for someone who enjoys both technical testing and hands-on mechanical/electrical work.

What You’ll Do

• Assist Project Engineers with lab experiments, testing, and data collection
• Support the fabrication, assembly, and testing of prototype equipment
• Set up and test automation systems and product assemblies
• Conduct routine and specialized tests based on engineering specifications
• Develop and implement test methods, procedures, and protocols
• Build and assemble products, components, and sub-assemblies
• Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment
• Record, analyze, and report test data
• Ensure products meet design, safety, and quality standards
• Coordinate with vendors to source components and materials
• Maintain lab organization, cleanliness, and safety compliance
• Manage inventory of lab supplies and materials
• Assist with training new lab personnel

What We’re Looking For

• Experience as a Lab Technician, Engineering Technician, or similar role
• Strong understanding of laboratory testing, equipment, and procedures
• Hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, or fabrication work
• Ability to troubleshoot and analyze technical problems
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting

Education & Experience

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or related field
• OR equivalent hands-on experience in fabrication, electrical, or mechanical systems
• Experience working in a lab, manufacturing, or R&D environment preferred
