STW: Athletic Academic Center Tutor

Purpose of Position: Seeking high academic students to provide academic support and tutorial assistance to Charlotte varsity student-athletes which will complement the instruction of professors. Tutoring serves only as a supplement to course instruction rather than a replacement. There is demand for a wide-range of courses including but not limited to:

• CHEM 1200 through CHEM 2132
• ECON 2101, 2102
• EXER 2168/2169
• PHYS 1101,2101
• SPAN 1201, 1202

Tutor candidates should have expertise in at least two courses.  

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Know and abide by all rules and regulations set forth by the University, Athletic Academic Center and the NCAA
• Assist in study skill development
• Prepare and submit accurate evaluations of tutoring sessions
• Maintain consistent and professional communication with students and AAC staff members at all times.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records and skills.

• Students must have good conduct standing with the university

Minimum Experience/Education:

• 3.0 overall cumulative GPA
• Successful completion of course to be tutored with at least a B (A preferred)
• Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse group of students with various learning styles and skill sets
