Duties & Responsibilities

The Workers Compensation department is responsible for handling all aspects of an injured associate's workers compensation claim. The adjusters manage the medical aspect of the claim, calculate and pay for any lost time due under applicable state laws, comply with state regulations and work with attorneys on resolving the claim.

The intern will learn about the above department and engage in various projects related to this process. The intern may develop presentations to teach store personnel about the importance of compliance with policies and procedures to mitigate claims. They will be given the opportunity to shadow the adjusters and participate in stewardship meetings.

Qualifications

  • Working towards a degree in business or related field.
  • Experience working in a collaborative group setting
  • Experience using analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, appropriately and effectively
  • Knowledge of Insurance and claims terminology
  • Any medical knowledge


ME/NC/PA/SC Salary Range: $18.10 - $31.00
