Our Charlotte, NC office as an exciting opportunity for a Financial Planning Internship. This role works as part of an advisory team to help clients achieve their financial goals and provide client service that exceeds the client’s expectations.  Our team members work together to meet company objectives for customer service quality, client retention and growth.

Internship Overview: Wealth Enhancement's intern position provides valuable opportunities to learn about the financial services industry through hands-on experience. WEG's internship program provides direct insight into a host of independent veteran advisors and teams and how they conduct business within our firm.

The key to our program is flexibility; allowing you to actively engage in the sectors of financial planning that interest you the most. This approach adds value to our firm while sharpening the intern’s skills in a myriad subjects. Engagement in the program is accomplished by but not limited to improving a process, assisting with client relationship management, administrative work, and completing a meaningful project.

Goals and Objectives:

  • Meet with principal advisor weekly to review progress, gain feedback, and ask questions
  • Attend lunch with different advisors for insight into the business
  • Attend client meetings to gain hands-on experience
  • Learn the backgrounds and career insights of multiple expert advisors
  • Increase knowledge, software skill and marketability

Responsibilities:

Actual responsibilities will depend on your specific capabilities but may include:

  • Complete assigned personal project(s) and present to principal advisor and team
  • Update Residency Program Process for up-to-date statistics and information
  • Update, maintain and add to library of resources for principal advisor
  • Help with daily tasks based on the needs of planners
  • Be flexible to help any advisor or team complete tasks and projects regardless of “host” team
  • Assist with client events and client appreciation initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Current junior or senior in a financial planning program or business program
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Quick learning skills and a desire to engage in financial planning
  • Flexibility in schedule to work 2-3 days each week
  • Competitive hourly pay will be offered depending on candidate’s background and ability
