Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated summer intern to support our office manager across backoffice accounting, purchasing, and operations functions. This is a hands-on role with exposure to the full business cycle— from customer orders through production to vendor procurement — making it an excellent opportunity for students pursuing degrees in business, accounting, supply chain, or operations management. You will be working directly with the office manager and the owner of the business.
Primary Responsibilities
- Reviewing and updating accounting/administrative process instruction manual
- Sales Support – Input of sales orders into ERP system and building production travelers from templates; creating and sending invoices to customers.
- Purchasing Support – creating purchase orders and sending electronically and or communicating directly with suppliers (phone calls) to confirm items, pricing and lead times;
- Inputting supplier invoices into the ERP system and ensuring match to original purchase orders.
Project Work
- Working directly with owner on ERP System and Accounting Processes to improve accuracy and productivity in accounting back-office function.
- Completing weekly supply side research and procurement tasks
- Support Office Manager as needed with payroll, shipping administration, office administration, etc.
- On occasion, conducting cost estimates and design calculations
Qualifications
- Self-starter who can work independently and take ownership of assigned projects
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Quality written and verbal communication skills
- Currently enrolled in a degree program in Business Administration, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
Preferred/Not Required
- Prior coursework or experience in accounting, operations, or logistics
- Familiarity with ERP or accounting software (e.g., Sage 50, QuickBooks, or similar)
