Job Description
Event Personnel
Purpose:
Control entry to assigned parking areas and providing parking information to patrons for events. Answer customer inquiries, assist university visitors, faculty, staff, and students and provide unparalleled customer service
Policy:
It is the policy for event staff to abide by the mission, vision and values in action which have been established to support the overall mission of University of North Carolina at Charlotte and the Department of Parking and Transportation Services.
Schedule:
Event Personnel schedules will vary based on the needs of the department and availability of events.
Event Personnel are expected to sign up for at least (80%) of available shifts.
Evenings and weekends may be required.
Shifts are typically between (2) and (12) hours.
Mandatory workdays include, but are not limited to:
- Move-In
- Home Football Games
- Fall, Spring, and Summer Commencement
- CMS Graduation
Work Environment:
Outdoors in all weather conditions
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Lift up to (50) lbs
- Walk, stand, and/or sit for extended periods of time
Uniform:
Event Personnel shall be assigned:
- (3) T-Shirts
- (1) Hoodie
- (1) Winter Coat, as requested
- (1) Hat or Beanie, as requested
Primary Job Duties:
Event Personnel duties include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain controlled access to parking facilities
- Assist guests with parking technology
- Scan or collect event parking permits
- Operate a mobile credit card terminal for Day-of-Event permit sales
- Communicate venue regulations to guests
- Assist in pedestrian and traffic control
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Must possess impeccable customer service skills
- Must possess good judgment and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- North Carolina Driver’s License
- Must qualify for PCI-DSS training
