Position Summary:
As an Injection Molding Process Technician within our research lab, you will play a crucial role in supporting our exploratory projects for a diverse range of customers. You will be responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting injection molding equipment to produce high-quality polymer components. This role involves collaborating closely with our research teams to optimize processes, ensure consistent product quality, and drive innovation.
1. Job Description:
The Process Technician is responsible for efficiently operating injection molding processes by setting up, programming, and troubleshooting injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment. This position requires a strong understanding of molding parameters, materials, and equipment, combined with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement. The Process Technician will have daily responsibilities to include ensuring compliance with safety/ environmental policies and ensure all injection molding machines are running within a 5% standard deviation of documented process. Process Technicians are also responsible for setting up the injection molding machines to the defined process and part specification while minimizing scrap and down time.
2. Duties of Position:
- Set up, operate, and maintain injection molding tools, equipment, and materials.
- Prepare and produce injection-molded components to specification.
- Inspect molded components for quality.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing process issues.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines and molds.
- Ensure production meets quality standards.
- Work with visiting customers to meet their needs.
- Be able to multi-task to ensure projects are completed in a timely fashion.
- Responsible to know the process and follow good manufacturing principles.
