Pesta Finnie is seeking a tax staff accountant to join our growing practice. Our tax staff accountants will organize, prepare, and coordinate a broad spectrum of tax returns including individual, estate, trust, corporate, and partnership returns for a variety of industries and for a variety of clients. Staff accountants are not isolated into one segment of the tax practice and have the opportunity to work with senior level managers and directors from day one. You will also work as part of a team of tax accountants and receive ongoing training and coaching as you progress in your position. There are approximately 55 full-time professionals most of whom are CPAs with advanced degrees. This high level of knowledge has provided the firm with a notable expertise in the tax area.

The primary responsibilities of this position include:

• Gain an understanding and assist in planning multiple tax assignments in Real Estate and other industries
• Prepare federal and state tax returns for partnerships, C corporations, S corporations. Trusts and individuals
• Participate in client assignments from beginning to end
• Develop and maintain an excellent working relationship with all levels of firm personnel to increase client satisfaction and to strengthen client relationships
• Provide exceptional service to every client by providing individual attention, responsiveness and commitment to understanding their goals and needs

A successful candidate will have:

• Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree in Accounting, Taxation or related field preferred
• CPA eligible; desire to obtain certification is required
• Internship experience in accounting or related field preferred
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical, research and tax project management skills, including basic knowledge of GAAP, Taxation compliance, codes and regulations
• Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
• Ability to multi-task, think independently and problem solve in a results driven team oriented environment
• Strong verbal and written communications skills
