Responsible for:
Essential Job Tasks:
- Perform power flow, short circuit, system stability and economic studies required to evaluate transmission system performance to ensure compliance with NERC Planning Standards and Santee Cooper internal Planning Criteria. Interprets results and proposes transmission system capital construction projects.
- Prepare BIR documentation necessary to initiate work on recommended system improvements. Provide inputs such as the needs and timing of the transmission improvement projects to form the ten-year Transmission System Plans and Capital Construction Budget.
- Perform or assists with the preparation of Interconnection Studies involving new interconnections with neighboring utilities, independent power producers or large load customers. Perform or assists with the resource planning scenarios studies.
- Prepare detailed written reports such as NERC compliance report, the annual Ten-year transmission plans report, and summaries of various internal transmission study reports.
- Prepare study results and recommendations for presentation to internal and external stakeholders. This may include executive management, customers, and regulatory agencies.
- Participate in planning activities and discussions between neighboring systems, regional and inter-regional entities as needed.
- Attends meetings and participates in the discussions of future system plans to meet the needs of Santee Cooper's wholesale, industrial and retail customers.

Experience with modeling/simulation software (PSSE, TARA, PowerWorld, CAPE, Aspen) is highly preferred.

Position Requirements:
Sr. Engineer
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited university or college +8 years experience required.
- PE license required.
Compensation Information:
$104,620 -$130,770 (min. - mid.)
Engineer III
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited university or college +5 years experience required.
- FE license required.
Compensation Information:
$93,830 -$117,290 (min. - mid.)
Engineer II
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited university or college +2 years experience required.
- FE license preferred.
Compensation Information:
$84,180 -$105,210 (min. - mid.)
Engineer I
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited university or college required.
- FE license preferred.
