Job Description
The Community Resource Unit (CRU) is a student-centered initiative housed within Urban Institute at UNC Charlotte. We connect students with the broader Charlotte community through hands-on learning, civic engagement, and collaborative projects. Our goal is to create meaningful conversations, shared experiences, and personal development, helping students explore how they can contribute meaningfully to campus and community life.
Are you passionate about making a difference and gaining real-world experience? As a CRU Student Community Engagement Assistant, you'll be connected with a community-based organization or campus partner in Charlotte. This hands-on placement offers a unique opportunity to apply your skills, explore real-world challenges, and develop professional relationships within our city.
- Engage in service, creative projects, research, administrative tasks, or direct engagement activities as assigned by the Urban Institute.
- Contribute to addressing real-world challenges faced by Charlotte organizations.
- Actively participate in weekly CRU seminars designed for reflection, discussion, and skill-building.
- Document experiences and learnings, reflecting on your contributions and growth.
- Collaborate with peers and CRU staff to enhance your civic learning journey.
