Profile of your organization/department
International House enriches the lives of foreign born and foreign rooted community members in Charlotte through cross-cultural connections that foster understanding and fuel inspiration. Our hands-on programs help immigrants settle and succeed in this region while supporting local residents and businesses to connect with people and cultures from around the world.
Description of the project and location (in-person, hybrid, or remote)
We would like to utilize the $10,000/month Google Ad Grant that Google offers to non-profits to grow our organization. We have the basics set up, but we need someone to research best practices, how to get started, and how to maintain our Google ads grant over time.
Project scope
This person will work with our marketing team to determine what has already been set up, what the next steps are to access the Google Ad Grant, how to focus on a strategy for our organization, what other organizations have done successfully and how International House might utilize this monthly grant for our greatest benefit.
Preferred student demographic and qualifications
This person would want to learn about marketing, nonprofit work, and/or grant management. They will be able to follow instructions, ask questions, communicate with the International House team, and be able to complete the expected outcomes listed below.
Hours required for completion
We believe this project will take between 20 and 40 total hours and is flexible in the timing of the work and research needed.
Describe how the student will benefit from participation (learning experience)
The learning experience for this project will offer direct nonprofit experience, which is quite different from corporate experience. This person will benefit from learning about grants and how companies and people can take advantage of different resources, what’s required, and how to complete requested documents.
Outline the expected outcomes
We expect this person to be curious and ask questions throughout the entire
process. We expect this person to be able to read the details of the Google Ad Grant and communicate those requirements to us. We are hoping to be able to implement our first campaign through this Google ad grant by the end of this person’s gig.
