Special Education Teacher (SPED) | 2026-2027 School Year | Denver, NC

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support students in a self-contained, adapted curriculum classroom . This role is ideal for educators who are passionate about working in a smaller, highly supported setting where they can make a direct and meaningful impact on student growth.

Position Details

• Location: Denver, NC

• Start Date: 08/31/2026

• Contract Length: 44 weeks

• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 37.5 hours/week

• Pay Rate: $45/hour

• Weekly Gross: Up to $1,687.50/week

• Openings: 1

• Interview Process: Virtual interview with school principal

Classroom Setting

• Program Type: Self-Contained, Adapted Curriculum

• Grade Range: 2nd-8th grade

• Caseload: ~6 students

• Support Staff: 1-2 Teaching Assistants in classroom

• Focus on individualized instruction and high-support learning environment

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individualized and small group instruction aligned with IEP goals

• Develop and implement adapted lesson plans

• Manage and maintain IEPs, including documentation and compliance

• Support students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development

• Collaborate with instructional assistants and school staff

• Create a structured and supportive classroom environment

Minimum Requirements

• Active Special Education teaching license

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university (preferred)

• Experience in SPED or self-contained classroom settings (preferred)

• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
