Job Description

Organization/Department Profile
Durag Fest is a vibrant annual festival celebrating Black culture, art, and
community. Since its inception, the festival has become a staple in our
hometown and an international success - with attendees coming from Jamaica to the Netherlands to experience the festival.


Description of the Project/Project Scope
As a Business Process Optimization intern, you will play a crucial role in
enhancing the operational efficiency of Durag Fest. You will identify inefficiencies in various business processes, such as inventory management and customer service workflows. Your tasks will include analyzing current processes, proposing data-driven improvements, implementing changes where feasible, and documenting the impact on overall efficiency. This project offers a hands-on opportunity to directly influence the festival’s operations


Student Demographic and Qualifications
We are looking for enthusiastic and driven students from UNC Charlotte who
have a keen interest in business operations and process improvement.

Preferred qualifications include:
● Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Operations Management,
Industrial Engineering, or a related field
● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills
● Ability to work independently and collaboratively
● Experience with data analysis and project management tools is a plus


Hours Required for Completion
The internship requires a commitment of approximately 8 hours per week, over a five-week span, with flexibility around academic schedules.


Role Type: Remote/Hybrid
While most tasks can be completed remotely, students are expected to attend occasional in-person meetings and events as needed.
