Job Description
Teach For America (TFA) is a U.S.-based nonprofit organization that works to expand educational opportunity for children in underserved communities. It recruits recent college graduates and professionals—called “corps members”—to teach in high-need schools for at least two years. Beyond the classroom, TFA aims to develop a network of leaders committed to addressing educational inequity in schools, policy, and communities.
The Internship
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive intern to support our team with data tracking, operational systems, and event coordination. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working behind the scenes to ensure processes run smoothly while also contributing to team collaboration and engagement efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
Track, manage, and update organizational data using spreadsheets and internal systems
Create and maintain templates, trackers, and resources to improve team efficiency
Support the planning and execution of both in-person and virtual events
Organize logistics, schedules, and materials for meetings and events
Ensure accuracy and consistency of information across platforms and documents
Assist with streamlining processes and identifying areas for operational improvement
Collaborate with team members to support various projects and initiatives
Qualifications:
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
High attention to detail and accuracy when working with data
Ability to think critically and solve problems independently
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships
Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to learn and take initiative
Proficiency in spreadsheets (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets) and basic digital tools
Learning Experience
The student will engage in hands-on experience in operations, data management, and event coordination. They will support the Educational Impact Team which allows for relationships to develop with multiple people. They will gain exposure to organizational systems and workflow improvement strategies that will contribute to their short and long-term professional growth. Also, they will be afforded multiple opportunities to develop professional skills in communication, problem-solving, and project management
Outcomes
By the end of this internship, the intern will:
1. Build Strong Operational & Data Management Capacity
Maintain accurate and up-to-date data systems to support organizational priorities
Develop and utilize tracking tools and templates that improve team efficiency
Ensure data integrity to inform decision-making and program effectiveness
2. Execute High-Quality Event Coordination
Plan and support the execution of in-person and virtual events aligned to organizational goals
Manage logistics, timelines, and communications to ensure seamless event experiences
Contribute to creating engaging, well-organized spaces for stakeholders

Analyze team workflows and identify opportunities for increased efficiency and impact
Design and implement process improvements that streamline operations
Apply systems-thinking to support scalable and sustainable practices
