Job Description

Proficiently knowledgeable about breast diseases Facilitate patient appointments, including those made with labs, diagnostic modalities, and specialty physicians Coordinate multidisciplinary planning conferences, collect patient information for use by the care team, and document recommendations made by leadership utilizing standardized care protocols in accordance with nationally recognized care guidelines Assist in developing patient education programs and tools Need to be a provider of educational information and support to all women concerned about their breast health Facilitate physicians’ recommendations for patient care to help ensure patient compliance and understanding Provide professional guidance in coordination, execution and evaluation of patient healthcare treatment plans Addresses patients’ unmet needs and enhances patients’ satisfaction by responding to the patient requests; providing information and support during illness Assess patients to help identify high-risk patients (physical, psychological and social) Help navigate and educate patients through survivorship Assist in planning healthcare pathways with multidisciplinary care team Be an educator for other medical personnel in understanding benign and malignant diseases, their treatment and the patient’s emotional and social recovery from the disease Work with cancer registry staff and others to collect data, track outcomes, and support strategic planning processes
