Monarch NC, a leading provider of high-quality, trauma-informed services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health challenges, and substance use disorders, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Behavioral Specialist to join our Long Term Supports & Services team in Monroe, North Carolina.
What You’ll Do
As a Behavioral Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting people as they pursue the lives they want to live. You will:
- Engage each person to understand their goals, preferences, strengths, and aspirations.
- Develop and implement support strategies that help each person make progress toward what is most important to them.
- Provide guidance that promotes independence, personal growth, and full participation in community life.
- Assist individuals in accessing community resources such as recreational opportunities, housing, food, clothing, education, vocational options, and life-skills supports.
- Coordinate with relevant mental health, developmental disability, and substance use services to ensure continuity of care.
What We’re Looking For
Candidates must have:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least 1 year of experience working with children or adults who have a mental health diagnosis, an intellectual or developmental disability, or a substance use disorder
