Physical Therapy Technician
KCP Physical Therapy
Part-Time
Closes on Thursday, February 5, 2026
Job Description
Because we are a small, all-encompassing physical therapy clinic, our technicians have a fair list of responsibilities. You must be able to interact with patients from all backgrounds and age groups with varying medical complexities as well as communicate with the physical therapists constantly. Clinically, technicians help instruct, observe, and regulate therapeutic exercise regimens; apply modalities such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation; greet, check-in, and take patients to treatment rooms; answer questions (or find the answer from someone else) about treatment programs, home exercise programs, the benefits of therapy, and almost anything imaginable; clean treatment rooms between patients; and do laundry. Techs also teach a balance and strength class for seniors (currently all ladies) twice a week during the normal clinical day. Beyond that, technicians may also be responsible for helping clean the clinic, training on the clinic computer and documentation software, completing odds and ends tasks, running selective errands, and generally keeping the flow of the clinic smooth.
Interpersonal and multi-tasking skills are absolutely necessary. A good memory is helpful, as is a near-constant smile. While being in top shape is not required, it is necessary to be able to carry up to 30 pounds and feel confident supporting and even catching an adult in the clinic.
Training is required and completed in-house, so no experience is necessary. This position is helpful for anyone looking to pursue a career in physical therapy, particularly those interested in attending a Physical Therapy graduate degree program. Out of our past 4 technicians, two have gone onto Doctor of Physical Therapy programs, one will be entering a DPT program this upcoming year, and one has pursued another advanced career out of the state.
