How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

This co-op will be responsible for assisting with system-wide OnBoard Services (OBS) projects and execution of special programs across the network worth ~$120M annually. These programs will vary from Continuous Improvement, Lean methodology implementation, process efficiencies, operational support and guidance, resource planning/optimization, cost savings initiatives, data analysis, and driving productivity.

The Co-Op will be expected to design and facilitate roll outs and provide all Catering vendors and OBS leaders with training centered around OBS initiatives. This position requires process engineering and change management skills to ensure successful completion of each initiative. This leader will be expected to become an expert in programs such as IFX, GP4 and O2P. They will develop systems of tracking and compliance of project plans. They will also be expected to engage with all OBS and In-Flight Services (IFS) Leaders to implement continuous improvement and cost savings ranging from $50-100M annually.

The team coordinates with leadership from multiple Business Units across OBS, Finance, and IFS, including Directors, Managing Directors, and Vice President levels. Responsible for interfacing with catering operations local management, vendors, Finance, Information Technology, Flight Crew, and Airport Customer Service on strategic programs. The Program Manager will also be responsible for developing and presenting strategic business cases and delivering projects on time / under budget. In some cases, they will be responsible for testing content and usability, and partner with Delta Technology and other parties to troubleshoot any issues. 55

Summary of Responsibilities(including but not limited to):

  • Responsible for strategic planning and Project Management Oversightfor OBS projects and initiatives.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify and drive processand specification modifications to gain efficiencies and reduce cost.

  • Run Lean workshops with operational teams, leaders, and businesspartners to identify areas of opportunity, reduce waste, and incorporateprocess improvements from a productivity, financial, and safetyperspective.

  • Focus on transformational changes and approaches to maximize impactof process enhancements.

  • Influence change without authority internally and externally todrive improvement and to achieve desired operational changes for internaland external customers.

  • Drivesolution-based recommendations and improvements to ensure integrity and successof the catering operation and its processes.

  • Interpret and report performance metrics to key stakeholders(internal and external) to drive accountability and escalate performancedegradation in a timely manner.

  • Oversee process for ensuring compliance of new launches, specchanges, and pack out changes.

  • Responsible for technical support, training, and ongoing subjectmatter expert of OBS systems and tools.

  • Support the OBS division, encompassing but not limited to: FoodSafety, Ramp Safety/Security, Daily reporting, Audits, Dispatch andProvisioning Technology.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Studentin an Undergraduate degree program in a relevant field, preferably Engineeringor Analytical program.

  • Embracediverse people, thinking, and styles.

  • Willingand able to travel, depending on need.

  • Abilityto interact effectively and appropriately with management and employees at alllevels.

  • Must have project managementexperience and analytic skills.

  • Interest in transformational change,leadership growth, and a track record of servant leadership and ability toinfluence without authority.

  • Must be a strong team player,detail-oriented, and perform well under pressure.

  • Must convey a professional image withan ability to lead, manage, and communicate to all levels of associates in ateam environment.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

  • Engineering background or experience.

  • Certification and/or experience in Lean Continuous Improvement

  • Working as a Co-op doesnot guarantee a full-time opportunity upon graduation. This position is intendedto provide you with educational, and professional work experience toprepare you for the workforce.

  • This position requires you to work for 2-3alternating semesters. You cannot actively take any courses (inclusive ofonline or in-person) and work as a Co-op at the same time, which may delay yourgraduation by 1-2 semesters

  • Rotations: Fall 2025, Summer 2026, Spring 2027
