As a Product Owner Intern, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting the development of loyalty and financial products, including the American Express Cobrand portfolio. You'll work alongside experienced Product Owners, Analysts, and cross-functional teams to help translate business needs into product enhancements and customer experiences.
This role is designed for students who are curious about digital product development and want exposure to how strategy, analytics, and customer insights come together to build outstanding products.
Key Responsibilities

Assistwith research and analysis that informs the product vision, roadmap, andfeature prioritization for loyalty and financial products.

Supportproduct backlog management by helping refine feature ideas, writing draftuser stories, and preparing acceptance criteria with guidance.

Partnerwith product owners to document requirements and help coordinatecross-functional discussions with UX, engineering, analytics, andmarketing teams.

Helpreview customer and performance data to identify opportunities for productimprovements and engage in problem-solving discussions.

Shadowproduct owners during sprint ceremonies and participate in agile ritualsto understand how digital work gets delivered.

Contributeto presentation materials, updates, and deliverables that support partnerand stakeholder engagement.

Ensurecompliance and risk management for financial products in partnership withlegal and regulatory teams.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

Pursuinga bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a relatedfield.

Interestin digital product development and customer-focused problem solving.

Abilityto analyze information, communicate effectively, and work in acollaborative environment.

Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.

Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.

Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.

Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

Familiaritywith agile concepts is a plus but not required.
