Job Description

Position Overview: The Learning Resource Center (LRC) Assistant is responsible for providing support to the LRC staff by assisting in simulation preparation, equipment maintenance, and supply restocking. The ideal candidate will possess proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and individuals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Simulation Preparation: Assist in setting up and organizing learning simulations, ensuring all necessary equipment and materials are ready for use.

  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and checks on LRC equipment to ensure proper functionality and report any issues for prompt resolution.

  • Supply Restocking: Monitor and restock supplies and materials in the LRC to ensure availability for various educational activities.

  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with LRC staff, instructors, and students to support a conducive learning environment.

    • Qualifications:

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Ability to work effectively with teams and individuals from diverse backgrounds.

    Physical Requirements:

    • The ability to engage in physical activities, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
    • The ability to lift 21 to 50 lbs and handle medium work.
    • Visual acuity is necessary to perform LRC activities.

    Working Conditions:

    • Work takes place in an indoor environment.
    • Subject to occasional noise and potential hazards.
    • Frequent work performed at close quarters with others.

    Work Term: Fall 2025 (Aug. 18th-Dec. 2th) and Spring 2026 (Jan. 12th-April 29th)
