Next Step Adviser
Carolina College Advising Corps
Full-Time
Closes on Thursday, April 23, 2026
Job Description
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is looking for full-time Next Step Advisers for the Carolina College Advising Corps to support high school students across the state. The Carolina College Advising Corps aims to help low-income, first-generation students from North Carolina explore and pursue postsecondary pathways whether college, career, or military service through personalized, high-quality advising. By placing recent college graduates as advisers in selected public high schools throughout the state, the Corps equips students with the knowledge, confidence, and resources to create meaningful postsecondary plans and pursue their goals. By recruiting graduates who are connected to and committed to North Carolina, we create pathways for them to contribute to the University’s mission of enriching the lives of the people in our state.
For the 2026-2027 school year, the Carolina College Advising Corps will be hiring 30+ Next Step Advisers for our available high school placements across the state. This is a grant-funded position, and advisers can serve up to two years in their role. Advisers receive a living stipend, free health insurance, and an education award ($5k-7k) for each year they serve that can be used towards undergraduate loans or graduate school costs.
Eligible applicants must have received a bachelor's degree by the start date of July 2026.
*Please note that this role is not based in Chapel Hill, rather each adviser serves full-time at one of our high school placements across the state.*
