Job Description
Charlotte Family Housing (CFH) works alongside families experiencing homelessness to help them move from crisis to stability—and beyond. By combining shelter, housing support, and personalized, trauma-informed services, CFH empowers parents and children to build brighter, more secure futures. Our work is rooted in dignity, compassion, and the belief that with the right support, every family can achieve lasting independence.
The Internship
What You’ll Do
This internship offers a dynamic mix of program support, fundraising, and communications work. Responsibilities may include:
Program & Summer Camp Support
• Assist with CFH’s summer youth programming (Camp RUSH), including “pitch hitting” where needed
• Support coordination of volunteers (scheduling, communication, day-of logistics)
• Help ensure a positive, engaging experience for children and families
Event Planning & Fundraising
• Support early planning and implementation of CFH’s signature fall event, Home for the Holidays
o Assist with silent auction procurement and organization
o Support sponsorship outreach and tracking
o Contribute creative ideas for event experiences and engagement
• Assist with smaller summer engagement opportunities and donor events
Communications & Marketing
• Help create and schedule social media content
• Draft blog posts, newsletters, and donor communications
• Assist with storytelling, including capturing and sharing family impact stories
• Support basic media and press outreach
15th Anniversary Planning
• Assist in planning for CFH’s 15th anniversary celebration year
• Help gather stories, photos, and archival content
• Support development of materials that highlight CFH’s history and impact
