Job Title: Direct Care Staff

Duties:

Provide direct care services to clients in a residential setting. Services are provided in the form of training and assisting with health care needs to whatever degree deemed necessary. Training covers a vast area and includes such entities as activities of daily living, vocational opportunities, leisure activities, assisting with outings and behavior management. Direct care staff must be attentive to carrying out programs accurately and appropriately; capable of intervening with clients experiencing emotional /or behavioral disturbance. Direct care staff must possess effective conflict resolution skills and be capable of monitoring the environment for safety concerns. Maintaining written records related to the behavior of the client under his/her supervision, assess the progress of the client in their assigned programs and communicate information to co-workers in other shifts.

Education/Experience Requirements:

Graduated from high school or GED. Must be eighteen years of age. Must be able to work in the United States.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute Course), First Aid, CPR for Child and Adult, Bloodborne Pathogens and Medication Administration. Ability to report orally and in writing knowledge of emotional needs of individuals. Must be able to communicate effectively with clientele, co-workers, and supervisor.
