Job Description
As a Plant Controller, you will be pivotal in overseeing plant accounting, financial performance, and internal controls while supporting manufacturing and operational objectives. You will lead monthly financial close and reporting activities, ensuring compliance with SOX requirements and company policies through strong internal controls. This role coordinates with cross-functional partners and external resources to deliver accurate financial analysis and timely results, while managing local finance personnel as applicable. As a key partner to the Plant Leadership Team and broader finance leadership, you will help drive plant performance, achieve financial goals, and develop finance talent.
What You'll Do

Assist in the monthly/quarterly financial reporting, special analyses at the manufacturing plant. Ensure processes are compliant with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Company Policy. Manage local annual physical inventory process.

Ensure that a robust internal control structure is in place, functioning effectively, and appropriately tested in accordance with SOX. Ensure that identified control and internal audit gaps are remediated on a timely basis.

Responsible for supporting production cost information and all Financials as well as any studies on plant investments, restructuring, and budget justification. Local oversight of the Standard Cost setting process. Responsible for material cost information.

Involved in developing talent for the finance organization, including development of professionals within the business and succession planning for key finance roles.

Understand and have an ability to summarize and communicate clearly the financial and operating results of the plants in order to measure progres against objectives and assess the effectiveness of decisions made.
What We're Looking For
-
Undergraduate Degree with a concentration in a business related field (i.e. accounting, finance, economics, etc.).

Desired Advanced Degree (i.e. MBA, other advanced degree) or certification (i.e. CPA, CMA, etc.).

A minimum of 5 years of accounting and/or financial analysis experience (preferably in a large corporate or manufacturing organization).

People leadership experience is preferred.
What Will Set You Apart

Thorough understanding of US GAAP, accounting for complex transactions and internal controls in compliance with SOX.

Knowledge of relevant systems (ERP systems with SAP preferred, MS office, Hyperion, etc.

High level of understanding of how key accounting decisions impact the business units and forecasted operating results/cash flows.

Able to analyze and grasp a situation quickly from different perspectives and create well-reasoned solutions.

Excellent leadership, consulting, coaching, training, organization, interpersonal and communication skills.

Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to coach, influence, and guide teams through change.
