Summary of the Role
As a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Intern, you will play a key role in supporting the development and execution of new hydropower facilities as well as the rehabilitation of existing hydroelectric installations. Working closely with our Engineering teams, you will gain hands-on experience contributing to engineering design, system development, procurement activities, testing, and commissioning. This internship is ideal for motivated engineering students looking for real exposure to large-scale renewable energy projects.
Core Responsibilities
- Review and analyze technical specifications, drawings, standards, datasheets, and other technical documentation to ensure compliance with project and contractual requirements.
- Assist in producing engineering documents required for the manufacturing, installation, and commissioning of mechanical or electrical systems and components.
- Support communication with suppliers by preparing technical specifications, instructions, and documentation for component and equipment procurement.
- Participate in the preparation of test and qualification procedures for factory and site testing activities.
- Support factory acceptance tests (FAT) and occasional supplier inspections as needed.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop installation procedures and operation and maintenance documentation.
- Support installation coordination activities and assist with onsite commissioning of electrical and control systems.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance standardization, project execution efficiency, and cost optimization.

Ideal Candidate Profile
- Strong interest in electrical power systems, and/or mechanical design.
- Knowledge of hydropower systems is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
- Self-driven, fast learner comfortable working with engineering software tools.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical is an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project, etc.).
- Willingness to travel occasionally and participate in site or field activities.
